Hi, I have started using the homepage map on my /location page.
When I search a location ‘Lincoln’ for example it does not show all listings in that area, or any at all in some situations.

https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/#near
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/search-filters-overview/#nearYou can search for listings AROUND THE CENTER of Lincoln or listings IN Lincoln.
Thanks
February 15, 2018 at 11:32 pm #417828OK so now i’m really confused, what search bar do people use to search the homepage map without it moving to the search page?
February 15, 2018 at 11:50 pm #417829Does the fact i don’t have it set as my WP front page affect it’s function?
February 16, 2018 at 12:59 am #417834All search results will always be presented on the search page.
But the NEAR field can be used to search IN a location that is in the database (like a city or region), or NEAR the calculated geolocation of a landmark or the center of a city.If you get no results when searching near the center of Lincoln, you can change the search radius.
If you post your WP admin details I will be able to show you the difference between a NEAR and an IN search.
Thanks
February 16, 2018 at 6:14 am #417847I understand that part and my search and listings pages work fine.
I’m referring to the location page and the gd homepage map.
How do people display a location on that?
Does it have it’s own search bar or do the need to do the url them self.
I can’t get it working is all, I search ‘Lincoln’ where is says title and it says I have no vets or days out and only 2 petshops for example.
I know that’s wrong, or is that search ‘in’ and not ‘near?’
February 16, 2018 at 8:46 am #417874I found the location switcher and that works fine for Lincolnshire/Orkney but when I search other areas it shows as no categories.
February 16, 2018 at 9:58 am #417892Hi Amy,
Thanks for your reply. Could you elaborate a little bit more? Perhaps you can list the steps to replicate it?
Thanks!
February 16, 2018 at 6:26 pm #417943I enter Nottingham as the location on the Locaction switcher and it returns no listing found (I know there is.)
The listing/search page work fine, it’s the location page with the homepage map that shows no results
If I enter Lincoln or Lincolnshire it shows everything in that area. It’s strange and only happens on the homepage map.
I tried Nottinghamshire Nottingham and Derbyshire (then gave up as it’s clearly not working correctly)
Thanks for the reply.
