    Hi
I wonder if you can help me find how/where to stop V2 auto updating as we’re not ready to do it yet. My site is From Britain with Love https://www.frombritainwithlove.com/directory/

My developers can’t see a setting anywhere that says GD should auto update, and yet it keeps happening and breaking the whole website.
When I click the revert button, it fixes the site in part, but still with lots of error pages in GD and have to keep clicking ‘save changes’ button in Permalinks to fix the errors. But only works for a while. Then the site breaks totally again and I have to start over again.
We want to apply the update on a staging site and fix any problems before updating the live site. To be able to do this, we need to be able to switch the auto update off – please can you help?!!!

    Thank you.

For any normal WP site, if you don’t want to update, just don’t click the button to update 🙂 That would be the button/link under the plugin on the plugins page.

If your site is truly automatically updating and running updates without your intervention that must be because of another service or plugin that you have installed.

We can take a look and see if we can find the culprit, just share WP Admin and FTP details in a private reply.

    Yes! Set that to “no”!
Let us know how it goes. (truly hands off updates are generally a bad idea).

    Hi Laura,

I think that is the issue:
    From here https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/wordpress/siteground-autoupdate/

If the plugin update option is ticked, on each WordPress update we perform, we will check if your plugins are up-to-date too and if not, we will update them.

Try that and let us know if it work.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
