    Hello,
I’m seeking for an advice on how to make my website run faster. I’m using GD along with Buddypress and BBpress a some other related plugins.
I’m new to the wordpress and websites in general, but as far as I understand that’s a hard thing to do, but there are a few ways to make it work for me.

I’m considering to do the following for now:
    1. Host it on Cloudways (and have some server side managed properly)
Question: Should I go with more RAM, more CPU Cores or having more reliable platform like Google or Amazon is more important? And should I actually bother with it?

    2. Use CDN or GDbooster
Question: As far as I understood there is no way to use both of them, isn’t it? So should I go with CDN or GDbooster or maybe there is some other way to make all of them work?

    Thank you in advance,
    Roman.

    Hi,

moving to a better server is the only way to go. To have a fast website you need both CPU and RAM.

Digital Ocean server as as fast as Amazon from my point of view.

CDN is usefull when you have visitors from all over the world, if most of your visitor are from 1 market you don’t really need one.

GD Booster will definitely help by caching your html and serving minified and concatenated scripts and css.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks

    Thank you, Paolo.

Yes, my website visitors will be from different countries and maybe continents, so I need CDN. Can I combine both CDN and GDbooster? How can this be done, because from some post I understood that they don’t work well together?

Did I understood you correctly? I have to choose either CDN or GDBooster, right?
IF so, can you advise any CDN network that is compatible with GD?

Thank you very much, from your words I understand that in the future it will be possible to combine both of them. Can you tell how far is it from now?

At the moment it is not at the top of our priorities. We have more urgent things to develop before working on this.

    I can’t really anticipate when…

    Sorry

By the way, do you have any page to see the future features release?

    Thanks

Hi I’ve got one more question regarding GD booster. Does it compress, cache and minify only gd related assets, or it also handles all other plugins active on the site, like buddypress, bbpress, blog and plugins related to them?

    Great, thank you.
Btw is it worth using image lazy load plugins like BJ LAZY LOAD with GD?

Not in my opinion, they don’t really speed up your website much (or at all) from my experience.

    Thanks

Hello, guys, I have some more questions about optimization.
I’ve noticed that the home page of your demo site is loaded with widgets and images, but it still loads quite fast and weights around 3.5 mb, where my site’s home page has twice less widgets, but weights around 4mb and loads quite some time.
The only way I can make it load faster, is by throwing out everything and leaving just the map, search and popular post, but it’s too little.
Are there any other secrets besides those mentioned in previous posts?

    Thank you.
