How to redirect user login

Hi,
When a new user registers for an account, there is no confirmation instruction them to check emails. And when a user enters login creds, its directed to the home page.

1. How can I create a redirect to a new page to inform user to ‘ check your email for temporary password.
2. How can i redirect a logged in user to their listings page?
