HTML in Custom Fields

    Custom fields are stripping HTML away when saving HTML as the default value.

    Only HTML fields allow HTML. Are you using a text field or something?
    Styling the placeholder should be done with CSS.
    Please include WP Admin and login URL if we need to check the settings.

    No, I meant having HTML as the default value. In 1.6 it can be done:

    1.6 HTML in value field

    In V2, HTML is stripped away.
