as per Paulo from WP forums.
see screenshot
(note I changed the “language” from places to teachers. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it)
But the icon is missing for both teachers and geodirectory.
thanks

/campus/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory-assets/images/favicon.icoIt should come back in the next update I think.
February 23, 2016 at 2:45 pm #126407No, the image is there. It may be corrupted?
I redownloaded it to no avail.
May want to consider using .png
February 23, 2016 at 5:39 pm #126545Hi,
if i open that url on any of our test websites the image works as it should. (never seen that on any website so far)
http://wpgeo.directory/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory-assets/images/favicon.ico
http://wordpressmu-3822-8567-17899.cloudwaysapps.com/try-geodirectory/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory-assets/images/favicon.ico
http://ppl.directory/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory-assets/images/favicon.ico
http://eating.directory/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory-assets/images/favicon.icoOnly on your server, I get this:
Can not display the image “http://www.pianowizardacademy.com/campus/wp-content/plugins
/geodirectory/geodirectory-assets/images/favicon.ico” because it contains errors. In most case this is due to a corrupted icon, but you said you redownloaded it. In that case it could be an htaccess rule or a server configuration preventing ico files to be served.
If you replace that with an ico file that usually works, does it appear?
I’d try to ask for support to your hosting provider.
Thanks
March 2, 2016 at 4:34 am #132005Interesting, however the .ico is fine. Here is what is happening
I’m running multisite.
Image SHOWS here:
http://pianowizardacademy.com/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory-assets/images/favicon.ico
But I am running GEO on a sub-site:
http://pianowizardacademy.com/campus
therefore,
Is not working. All the sites you mention above have geo on the main site (root) or what looks like a sub-directory.
So it looks like a multi-site thing. Not that this is any big deal, just a minor annoyance that should be fixed.
March 2, 2016 at 4:30 pm #132353hi,
this is WPMU in a sub-folder just like your website: http://wordpressmu-3822-8567-17899.cloudwaysapps.com/try-geodirectory/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory-assets/images/favicon.ico
I’m still convinced the problem is not in the application.
I’ll ask to the developers to follow up anyway.
Thanks
March 2, 2016 at 4:44 pm #132357Hello, i can’t seem to recreate this, i suspect is is a htaccess issue, can you please provide FTP details and i’ll take a closer look.
Thanks,
Stiofan

http://www.pianowizardacademy.com/campus/wp-content/plugins/s2member/images/brand-favicon.png
This icon for another plugin shows just fine.
However, I uploaded a png file to geodirectory and it shows. Very strange.
Maybe you might consider replacing favicon.ico with favicon.png as I notice all my other plugins use png.
Or if you, point me to the file to change the icon. Again, not a big deal, but an annoyance.
March 7, 2016 at 5:26 pm #135390Hello, your server is not dealing with the image correctly, the links i posted above are to the SAME image file, one is processed differently. Have you asked your host to look? If i had to guess its a one line fix for PHP mod deflate to recognise image/x-icon document type, please tell your host that.
As far as i am aware you are the only person with this problem which would make me class it as server/user not a bug we need to fix, if even a handful of people had this we would action it.
Thanks,
Stiofan
March 14, 2016 at 9:29 pm #139732Still working this out with host, who is not very responsive.
