Hi there,
Yesterday all the listing images ‘disappeared’ (still available within the Uploads folder, but disconnected from their listings). This has happened once before about a week ago, but I didn’t have it set to organize photos into month/year folders at that time. Now that option is selected, but the photos have disappeared again. Any idea what is causing this issue?
Thanks,
Bobby
September 9, 2014 at 9:08 pm #14842Hi,
if wordpress is not set to organize photos into month/year folders, images are not attached to listings at all, they don’t disappear.
This is something very very strange… It could be due to another plugin conflict, or some kind of error in the database.
Did you remember what you were doing right before the image disappeared?
In any case we would need to have a look at the website, wordpress dashboard, FTP and cpanel for the database to find out what’s really going on.
Could you please send us links and credentials in a private reply?
Thx

I’ve checked your website and everything looks in order. You are the 1st member to ever report such a problem and not knowing what triggers the issue, it is almost impossible to sort it out.
The only thing that comes to my mind would be a conflict with another plugin, but again, not knowing how and when the problem comes up, it becomes really difficult to track it down.
I would try disabling all non GD plugins and doing some testing reactivating them one by one to see if activating one of them makes this happen again. At least we would know the culprit.
Let us know,
September 15, 2014 at 8:17 pm #15483Hi paolo,
After looking through the mySQL databases, it looks like the issue might have to do with the geodir_attachments table. For some reason, the table is being blanked out every so often and the rows are all deleted.
Is there anything in GeoDirectory that might be causing this to happen? It’s hard to imagine that another plugin would be causing this, especially in that GD-specific table (we’ve not had a problem like this in other mySQL tables).
Thanks for your help.
September 15, 2014 at 8:58 pm #15490There was a function that was working on that table, but it was fixed with 1.2.1, I see you have 1.2.2, so it should no longer be a problem.
ANyway, did you try updating to 1.2.3 of core plugin?
September 22, 2014 at 1:43 pm #16130Hi Paolo,
I have the 1.2.3 version and I met the same problem on my website.
I took a look on my database table geodir_attachments and everything is good, there are rows inside.September 22, 2014 at 1:44 pm #16132This reply has been marked as private.September 22, 2014 at 3:37 pm #16140The same happened on my site… i had dummy listing on it and the images disappeared. I deleted and created the dummy listings and its ok now, but hopefully it wont happen on the live site… maybe there is a flaw in the plugin?
September 22, 2014 at 4:05 pm #16144@tØm Babwá, the image URL is in the database and the image is not in the upload folder.
I thought it was the other way around… I don’t think GD has something to do with this to be honest.
The function I was talking about was editing the attachement posts (linnk between image and listing), not the image from the upload folder.
I’ll ask Stiofan if he can think about something else.
Thx
September 22, 2014 at 4:15 pm #16147Ok Stiofan did see the problem TØm, the picture uploaded to that listing was probably uploaded before the medias were set to be organized in year/month cause the URLs are not linking to that year/month :
yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/409_Irish-Red.png
should have been
yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/409_Irish-Red.png
Thx
September 22, 2014 at 4:36 pm #16150Okay, I know where the issue came now.
However, the uploaded picture in my example was uploaded by the website. Firtly, it’s displayed well. After editing in the back office, maybe image url was changed but image disappear.
How to fix this problem ? Maybe, I have to update “GeoDirectory Custom Post Types” with a new version ?
