Seeing issue with images when creating or editing a listing
    – upload 3 images, only shows 1 in edit screen and it is actually blank
    – upload 3 images, first image gets duplicated for the other 2
    – edited by deleting 2 duplicates, uploading 2 other images and the third is a duplicate of the second now.

    Cheers,
    Brian

    Paolo,

Yes it is. Should it not be, or is this a “could be issue” that is cropping up?

    Cheers,
    Brian

    It should be enabled.

Please send a link and wp admin credentials. I’m not able to recreate this on any of our test sites.
    Thx

    Vikas,

Mostly just been pulling dummy images from a Dropbox folder that were taken with my smartphone. Here is a random sampling…

    Cheers,
    Brian

*scratch that, images are all about 1MB, so can’t upload here as they exceed the limit.

probably images are either saved with the wrong extension or are corrupted.

If it was a bug in the system it would happen all the time, not just randomly.

    Thx

this is not an image : http://mchenrylife.com/c/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/3101_2014-07-04-11.49

it should have a .jpg or .png as extension .49 is not a valid image extension.

As I said, it looks like a problem with the image format.

Can you please try to open them with photoshop or any other image editor and resave them in jpg format before uploading them?

    Thanks

    @paolo,

Excellent, somehow I totally missed that before. So now we have some idea what is happening. The image is an image, taken and saved by my phone. That naming pattern, as was the case now I see with the other images that had issues included periods within the name.

The file name technically was: 2014-07-04 11.47.49.jpg

Personally, if I was posting for real, I wouldn’t knowingly use filenames with periods or spaces in them. The reality is, most users may not notice or realize, and with phones probably well outpacing cameras now for digital photos, this will be a common issue.

The question then is whether this is a WP upload issue or a GD upload issue?

    Cheers,
    Brian

From my point personal of view and in order of importance:

    1) it is a phone problem if the files have spaces and dots in the file name.

    2) it is a user problem, who tries to upload a file with spaces and dots in it.

Just to reassure you, in 3 years selling and supporting GeoTheme, none of our members ever reported such a problem. I really don’t think this can turn into a common issue.

Anyway, I’ll ask Vikas if there is any way to validate something like that.

    Thx
