images not showing up

    Hi, my hosting provider changed my IP address, and I was provided with a new IP,
    now all the images (like star icons, etc) are not showing up and I found out that the links for those images are using the old IP address.
    how do I go about fixing this so it uses the new IP? I rebooted the instance and it did not work.

    my second question, why does it use the IP address for images and not the domain name?

    It would use the IP address if the site URL is set to the IP address at WP Settings > General > WordPress Address (URL). You should have the URL there of your website.
    To replace all URLs in the database, you need a tool like https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/
