hi,
I have deployed the application to Aliyun server which is in China, http://silongedu.com/when my clients access the site in china, they are not able to see the images on details page (pls see attached) while I can see it in Canada, I was wondering if there is any Google call for this section that prevents my client to view it (google is banned in china)
Here is web log error which I think might be useful for your analysis:
2016-04-13 11:17:09 Error 101.226.33.201 404 GET /maps.google.com/maps/api/js?amp;language=en HTTP/1.0I attached log screenshot, some of error is irrelevant to GD, but just provide some info for you to identify
thank you!April 13, 2016 at 5:29 pm #162732Hi,

April 18, 2016 at 3:43 pm #165600hi paolo, i know this issue maybe challenging, but is there any feedback or advise from your side?
thank you very much
FelixApril 18, 2016 at 3:47 pm #165601Hi Felix,
one of the developers had a look and he replied that there are still Google Maps calls on that page even though you disable location for that CPT.
He proposed a solution, but it involves some changes and only Stiofan can approve it or provide another solution.
Stiofan is flying back today from his honeymoon and will be back tomorrow to work full time again.
He’ll let you know about this as soon as possible.
Thanks

i agree with him as this issue only happens to users who accesses it from china.according to solution, “So only solution i see is to use javascript function try/catch (@see http://www.javascriptkit.com/javatutors/trycatch.shtml) every places where we have used google library functions.”
could you pls list the files where google functions are called? and is there a safe way to change it to prevent overwriting in future update?
thank youApril 21, 2016 at 2:22 pm #168024The dev that suggested this is offline now, we could probably use something as simple as
if (google.maps) {…}I’ll talk with him tomorrow about it and let you know what we decide.
Thanks,
Stiofan
April 22, 2016 at 9:15 am #168558We are looking into the possibility of using another maps provider as a fallback service for countries that dont allow google maps. I have opened a task and i will keep you updated here.
Thanks,
Stiofan
April 22, 2016 at 5:05 pm #168920MHI stiofan, may I know when this feature can be completed? My client’s application is live on mid of May and this part is the only pending issue. please kindly let me know.
If it takes too long, we have to find turnaround.
thanksApril 22, 2016 at 5:26 pm #168930We should know more by monday or tuesday, there is a developer working on it, he is first assessing how possible this is first, then we should know more. If there is no major problems i would imagine it will be in next release, i’ll keep you posted.
