Hello
I am getting ready to launch my directory and I have a question about the impact of users building listings at the same time. My directory will be free and I am hoping that it will be widely accepted by the users. I will be contacting different groups to join and they could push that info out to several thousand potential listings at one time. This may be wishful thinking but if I had 50-100 people adding their listing at the same time, is there anything that I should be doing to prepare the site for that?

You should be on a good server for that with good RAM, then you should be fine I think.

FYI should you have thousands of people submitting listings simultaneously you’d be the next Yelp from day one. Venture capitalists would pay big bucks for a wee % of your company and you’d be able to get all the tech support and servers you need.
