Hey guys,
I’m in the process of uploading listings and I have noticed that the import speed is getting significantly slower after each upload.
I’ve uploaded 70.000 listings so far from the total number of 230.000 listings. Simple calculation says that uploading a file with 10.000 listing will take 6 hours to upload as it takes approx. 25 seconds to upload 10 listings.
That seems to me a bit odd.. While I started uploading, the first uploaded file with 10.000 listings was uploaded within 3 hours. So it’s doubled now.
I’ve tried to make a smaller files at this point with up to 2.000 listings per sheet, but it still takes 25 seconds/10 listings.
Wordpress installation is running on Dedicated Server – Atom C2750, 8cores X 2.4GHz, 8GB DDR3, 512GB SSD
Wordpress, GeoDirectory and all extensions updated to the latest version.
Do you have any suggestion how to improve the import speed? As it will take a week to get it uploaded this way.. Which we don’t have..
Thanks

December 5, 2016 at 1:49 pm #319067Hi Stiofan,
No It’s a plain WP installation running on Supreme Directory theme, WPDG plugin with extensions and the only plugin that is not related to WPGD is the buddypress and enabled maintenance mode.. Nothing else.

The only header fields with data are the location fields (city, address etc), expire, package ID, post_title, content, category, phone and image. Other 20 fields are empty and available for user input after the claim is made.
Is it necessary to have headers with empty columns in the CSV? I’m thinking if only the ones that contains data were being imported, it might be faster?

I will work on improving the import but it will take a but of time.
For the locations, i am not sure what you mean, switching locations where?

December 5, 2016 at 6:23 pm #319320At main menu, location switcher.
After the state is selected it takes a lot of time to refresh the city list in order to display them.I don’t mind waiting a sec or two, but anything above that makes it very user unfriendly.
Any ideas on that? Thanks guys
December 5, 2016 at 6:30 pm #319324I am not sure what you mean, i select a region in the menu and it takes me to the locatin page of that region (i see no delay)
i can then click the city tab on that page and i see cities and no delay. Please explain step by step how i can recreate this.
Thanks,
Stiofan
December 5, 2016 at 9:34 pm #319435Hmm.. There are no steps to recreate this. Open up the home page and try to switch the Region. It takes almost 20 seconds to be switched to the new region. In that time, the spinner is spinning in the top tab and it’s saying Waiting for domain.com at the bottom left.
I’m not sure how you get it to load without a delay, because that’s not what’s happening.
Thank you
