- I export the dummy data.
- Change the names of listings in the post_title column.
- Save the CSV
- Re-import with “Update listing if post ID already exists” selected
The re-import says 31 of 31 listings successfully imported. But when I check my listings, they are still all the same.
When I try “Ignore listing if post ID already exists.”, it says 31/31 ignored because posts already exist.
So, it’s uploading but where the heck are they going? They are not listed under Places.
If it’s any concern, i renamed the CPT Places to Tribal Territories and changed the URL to /tribal-territories/. Not sure if that can affect how the listings work.
Thanks,
April 27, 2020 at 4:36 pm #542875I should add I cleared the cache, flushed the hosting cache, and have no caching plugin.
April 27, 2020 at 6:53 pm #542915If you want more listings, then remove the ID column.
Because the ID exists they are being checked against the existing listings, and, with no changes made, nothing is being updated.
April 27, 2020 at 6:56 pm #542917You mean remove the entire column including the title in the CSV? Or just leave the values empty?
Why would that matter though? If I keep the same ID, but I changed the content and the post title. Why is there even an option to update if you can’t update?
April 27, 2020 at 7:15 pm #542932I just tried it again with no ID number and it didn’t work. Same result as before. Successful import but no new listings.
April 27, 2020 at 7:47 pm #542942You are right, of course, what you say you did should work.
Please share credentials in a private reply so we can take a look at the issue.

Please enable it and try again.Be sure to save permalinks after enabling.

April 28, 2020 at 1:54 pm #543096Hi Alex,
That’s not the issue, I disabled it after the problems were happening just to test. I just did as you asked and no change. The new uploads worked when I added a default category (I think that was the issue), but I still can’t update existing places with the Import feature and the markers for my new uploads don’t appear on my map.I changed the permalinks to a different settings and set them back again to test as well. See image attached. There should be markers all over the place, not just Ottawa. I don’t want to have them broken down into unique folders for every city. I want them all to show on the world map. Thank you.

So how did you get the lattitude and longitude of the new test businesses? Are those populated already on the sheet now because you exported it after? If you don’t have those coordinates when you import, it should find them automatically right?
Thanks again,
April 29, 2020 at 7:42 pm #543236Great! The import worked with your style sheet and my new information, but it creates another problem.
After the import, the categories were all assigned successfully, but under category count, each tribal listing category still shows 0. And that affects the front end category filter on my map: http://ok0.f5f.myftpupload.com/location/
It says No Category because each category is showing 0 posts.Any ideas?
Can you also tell me how to add the phone number and other information to the front end of the listing? Right now I see ratings and a heart, which I don’t want. The documentation is unclear as to how to do this, unless you can point me somewhere that explains this.
Thanks,April 29, 2020 at 8:14 pm #543242When listings are imported you may need to use a tool
GD – Status – Tools – Term counts – Run
When you change the design of the templates you will want to open up the template pages and add and remove shortcode features to get the design you want.
https://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/article/39-geodirectory-pages
To edit pages you will want to do a couple things. First check out your add listing page. Find it in the pages settings and click ‘view’ – there you can add new listings through the frontend.
Check the WP Menus for adding new GeoDirectory links to your menus, and especially for the add listing page.
Use GD Dashboard and GD Author Actions in the details page sidebar to give login and edit links accordingly.
