Hello dear support team,
Translated entries import:
The problem – the uploads of English and Spanish are not automatically linked to the main language German.Not even if the ID of the original entry is specified in the foreign language upload csv file.
I created the categories in both other languages.
The translated csv files of the address entries are linked with the
Category IDs of translated categories correctly uploaded.But now all address entries have to be linked to the translations manually and individually. This is infinitely time-consuming. Each entry must be opened and manually assigned to the translation for all languages.
Is there a better way to link this to the translated CSV file during upload? The ID of the original entry is present.
If you have an idea -good. Markus
By the way, the snippet for exporting categories within a CPT works very well. 🙂
September 25, 2019 at 7:41 pm #510262I’ll get Kiran to have a look at Yuri question.
ThanksSeptember 27, 2019 at 7:57 am #510505Hi Mark,
Are you using WPML plugin or any other plugin for multi languages? This happened with importing new listings or with edit the existing listings via import?
Please provide site link & admin credentials to look there.
Let us know.
Thanks,

thanks, yes, i installed the events add on last – after wpml. I should have found it myself. I’m angry because I made trouble for you again.
But there are so many adjusting screws – and after a few days of searching I opened a ticket.Thanks again – it works. MArkus
solved 😉
October 8, 2019 at 9:50 am #512091oops
my last post should end up at the other ticket to wpml.
events add on translation wpml
This was about the location category translation. And that’s solved Kiran.
The problem with the link of translation import csv files is not solved yet. Please excuse.
Since it is very time-consuming to link translations manually, it would be nice if you could check it or tell me if it does not work.
Best regards, Markus
October 9, 2019 at 1:59 pm #512314Hi Mark,
Import post with WPML translation issue has been fixed. It will be in next release.
Do you want me to apply patch on your site?

KiranOctober 9, 2019 at 8:27 pm #512368Hi Kiran, tx,

October 11, 2019 at 11:41 am #512633Hi Mark,
I have already applied patch on your site. When you export listings csv, it contains three columns wpml_lang, wpml_translation_of, wpml_is_duplicate.
– wpml_lang : post language. ex: de
– wpml_translation_of : in post is translated then original post id from which this post is trsnalated.
– wpml_is_duplicate : if post being imported is duplicate or normal translation. 1 = duplicate translation & 0 = normal translation.Let us know.

KiranOctober 12, 2019 at 9:09 am #512764Hi Kiran,
Thank you very much, sir. Looks very good.
Here my feedback
I just exported and checked the fire brigades category. The Snippet category export still works fine. The files now contain the additional fields exactly as you wrote.Deutsch = Originalsprache
ID=24079
wpml_lang=de
wpml_translation_of= empty
wpml_is_duplicate=0English = Übersetzung
ID=2410
wpml_lang=en
wpml_translation_of= 24079
wpml_is_duplicate=0For what is duplicate used?
This is a great help and time saving, thank you. I’ve spent days linking it. I’ll get back to you with the next import and if it worked.
Sometimes I overlooked an error during the import and have to delete the records, e.g. move them to the trash. Where can I find the possible values for post_status? Standard is publish. Does something have to be deleted or expired?
I’d like to be able to put an entire import file in the trash. So far I delete these entries manually
Should I open a new ticket for this question?
Have a nice weekend and thank you very much – Markus

October 13, 2019 at 10:29 am #512839Post status is a WP feature. You can try adding one record of each post_status on your site, then export to see the specific values.
October 14, 2019 at 8:23 am #512985Hi Mark,
For what is duplicate used?
With WPML you can translate post by two methods(normal translate & duplicate).
Read more about translate & duplicate at here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/clarity-on-duplicate-v-s-translate/#post-3340301
If you use wpml_is_duplicate=1 then it will treat 2410 as a duplicate of 24079 otherwise translation of 24079.
Let us know.

October 16, 2019 at 6:53 pm #513475Ty very much Alex. Sorry could not answer immediately.
I was thinking the same direction. And tried that already. But it does not work for ENtries which are already in the trash. Because they dot get exported.
I was hoping someone knows the post_status for entries in the paper basket. I will search for that in the wp documentation.
Reason is Time:
In my eported files for example, i found post_status like “expired”
Now I can reimport a csv with post_status=”epired”. Than in WP backend i can move epired posts into the trash. And then delete the trash.This works fine with small amounts of entries. With a file that contains 700 entries and page list of 100 Entries, i ve to mark and choose them all and move them for 7 pages into trash. Then delete trash. It takes some time and server is working hard. But i ve also files with more then 10.000 adresses. I did not import those huge files yet before knowing more about quick deletion.
Anyway – i someone knows the post_status for trashed entries, nice. If not have a good time – and tx – Mark
