Hi I have a running site with the permalinks structure set as /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ and read that the ideal setting is /%postname%/, what are the complications of this for Geodirectory?

    Hi,

more than ideal I’d say mandatory. GD adds locations to wordpress and not as taxonomy, so that one can visit say a category only for 1 location /location/category/, which is impossible with any other directory script for wordpress. In order to achieve that we had to write custom rewrite rules and they are only copatible with /%postname%/.

Using any other permalinks structure will return 404 on any GD page.

    Thanks

I might be missing something, I was convinced it wouldn’t work. Well let us know if you find any issue with it.

If you don’t, I’ll make sure to update our docs.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I’m using an older version of GD.
I really would like to use permalinks like /%postname%/ and not like ?p=123.

    But I get problems with GD if I’m using /%postname%/;
for example “edit listing” doesn’t work anymore.

It’s there a possibility to change the permalinks on the code of GD
so that I can also use there /%postname%/?

@Wilfred Boerrigter: Does that work for on your website??

Can you tell me please the place in the code where I have to change the permalinks?

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,

GeoDirectory requires %/postname/% as permalinks. With the default structure it can’t work correctly.

Why are using an old version of the plugin?

    Please let us know,

    Thanks
