Hey Stiofan and others,
I saw Stiofan mention that Payments Manager v2 and Invoicing add-ons are pretty safe for live sites now, so I installed both today. Loving it so far, but here’s some things I’ve noticed:
>There is no way to customize invoice numbers (or I can’t find it?). In Payments Manager we used to be able to specify what characters our invoice numbers start with. My invoices are now starting with default “WPINV-“. This invoice number appears in WP backend Invoicing, but on the email to the user making the purchase, “Invoice Number” is blank.
>Coupon codes often don’t work on the “add-listing” page. Maybe there is a time delay, but some coupon codes I made won’t be accepted on the add-listing/upgrade-listing page, but then they’ll be accepted if I try after reviewing the listing/upgrade. Also, the ‘Coupon Code?’ area should not appear when a user is editing a listing (when the price packages don’t even appear). Finally, the “review” page before checkout does not show the proper calculation with the coupon code applied – it says “you will pay $XXX” but then the next checkout page (which is accurate) shows a lower price. I think all of these issues could be fixed by only accepting Coupon Codes on the actual checkout page, after they’ve reviewed listing.
>Relatedly, it’s annoying that when a user clicks “Upgrade Listing”, they are brought to the “add-listing” page where they can edit listing information. In order to continue to checkout after selecting a package, the user needs to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click “Review Listing”, which is not clear. All of these steps in the check-out process will reduce the number of users who complete the payment.
>When a listing is “upgraded”, it seems to become a “new” listing. the “New” badge is attached onto the listing’s picture in searches, and the user receives an email “Listing Published Successfully” (on top of emails for upgrading their existing emails). Also, sometimes during tests, when I’ve pressed back or closed the browser somewhere in the middle of the checkout process, the listing will be saved as a draft and is no longer visible to the public. note: I just changed my Prices&Payments>General settings so that when a listing expires it becomes “publish” status instead of “draft”, so hopefully that fixes some of this issue.
Thanks for this great new plug-in!
