Is there a way to import old posts from Geoplaces V3?

I have a site that recently got hacked due to old theme and plugins that can’t be updated, I am trying to recreate the site using WPGeoDirectory but it will be really hard and time consuming moving the old places to the new site since they are in the hundreds.

My question is: has anyone been able to import the old geoplaces v3 to WPGeoDirectory?, if so how did you manage?

Hello, I don’t really know how is the GeoPlaces database structure , but I guess the only way to do so, is to export database, edit and import it back in GD. There are no pre-made tools for that.

1st I would check if it is possible to export GeoPlaces listings to CSV. If it’s not I would export as Simone suggested directly from the DB into a CSV.

Than I would reorder them to follow the structure needed by GD and re-import.

You need to only create categories and prices in advance.

I tried doing the export/import process but it creates blog posts instead of places, also none of the images and map info get imported.

there has to be a plugin or process to do this, i have been looking around and can’t find anything solid yet.

You are missing this part: Than I would reorder them to follow the structure needed by GD and re-import.

Make sure you export in CSV file (not with regular wordpress export tool), you will need a plugin.

Than re-order listing in our sample csv and add the correct post type.
