I can see you have 2 directory plugins, that might be the reason of your problem?

You should be customizing the main GD wrapper, add something like this to your CSS:
#geodir-wrapper {width: 1290px; max-width: 100%; min-width: 768px;}
I could not log in with your details to try it out.

GD should not mess with your categories really.
There might be a conflict because of some combination of GD with another plugin.

now it worked.
I’ve added what Guust suggested:

#geodir-wrapper {
    margin: 0 auto;
    max-width: 100%;
    min-width: 768px;
    width: 1290px;
}

I also changed map width to 100% in Appearance >> Widgets >> GD Home Top Section >> GD > GMap Home Page.
