Issues during Advanced Search configuration

    Hi, GDTeam!

    We have some issues when configuring Custom Fields in Advanced Search addon, so we hope you will help us.

    Our purpose is to create filters with Advanced Search like following:

    1. City selection (with zoom in) from something like select input field.
    We tried to do this with Address field from Custom Field (>Address) but this didn

    t work - the field does not show in Advanced Search. Also we aren

    t sure this is the right way to reach this.

    2. Object type filtering – shop type – we made this with Category field from Custom Fields.
    It`s working fine.

    3. Brand filtering.
    We aren`t sure how to realize this.

    We need your help about realizing some of these targets. What about first and third point?

    Hello,

    1. This sounds like it will be a very custom feature. Have you taken a look at the V2 location switcher? It makes it easier for users to choose a location.

    3. Have you already tried Custom Select field?

    We need three-field filtering on the map.

    Step one: First field will be about the object type – for example pet shop, veterinary clinic, etc… – we have realized this option by GeoDirectory Place categories and add Category to the Advanced Search.

    Step two: Second field will be about the city – for example select field. When you select the city from the list, the city should be focused on the map – again this is in the Advanced Search bar.

    Step three: Third field will be about the brand – for example select field.
    When you select the brand from the list, show only selected brands.

    Some good practices to do this?

    We thought to connect the GeoDirectory map to JavaScript Google Maps API and realize step two and step three with additional coding. What about this?

    Okay, it seems that it should have a easier way.
    My places have tags. How can I search in Advanced Search by selecting place tag?

    The “Search for” field searches for tags. Tags aren’t available as a dropdown/select.

    Are there other features you are looking for?

    Yes, you can make a store locator, certainly, by adding listings and then showing all the listings, all the stores.

    We make map with categories and property types. We have two questions:

    1. Field “Търси за” don’t work. What could be the reason?
    2. In order to be able to search in other cities, what should we do? To buy an addition?

    1. The ‘search for’ field searches titles, descriptions, categories and tags. It does not search custom fields.

    2. Yes, to add listings outside the default location you will need the Location Manager Addon.

    That is the “Near” field, which is also part of the search bar, usually the second field.
