    Hi,

I’ve got an issue with many of listings on my site. The Lat/Long is incorrect for many locations. I used a free tool that was supposed to auto-discover the lat/long for each address… I guess that didn’t work too well.

Is there any way I can run a robot job to auto-update the lat/long per address from within geodirectory? I would think there must be some way to do this. I’d like to avoid manually going into each post and clicking the set map button to update lat/long.

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

So, I decided to create a macro to go through each listing and click the “Set Address On Map” button and then click “Update” on the listing.

I am now getting the following error. I never saw this error via Firefox or IE but the macro program I am using is failing as a result of it.

RuntimeError: unhandled alert dialog detected. Dialog message: "Geocode was not successful for the following reason: ERROR", line 5 (Error code: -1450)

I did some googling and it looks like this is an error from Google Maps API. Any thoughts on this? This error is returned on any post I “Set Address on Map” and then “Update”.

DISREGARD THE LAST POST… turns out the error was a problem with the macro. I almost have this figured out!!!

Well… I tried to automate this process with iMacros for Firefox. It works but I’m always running into session expirations no matter how I divide the workload amongst separate macro files.

It would be cool if there was a feature within Geodirectory that could run through all places and apply the “Set Address on Map” option and then save the post.

Hi, depending on the number of listings, maybe it’d be easier to geocode your places first and then import everything via GD > General >CSV Upload feature? Geocoding maybe easier task than automation.

Do you have suggestions for geocoding a very long list?

I used an automated tool to geocode my listings originally but ended up with a botched result, hence my current predicament. I was just contemplating biting the bullet and re-entering the entire DB by hand. Hopefully I can think of something better!

I would have suggested the same as pix3x.

Bulk delete listings, reupload CSV with correct lat and long.

I use this and never failed: http://www.findlatitudeandlongitude.com/batch-geocode/

    Thx
