    Hi Guys,

    Im very happy with my GD membership purchase. I now need to rebuild my site around it!

    I’m creating a Business (Venue) Directory and Events site. I have also created a CPT for Performers. I have linked the Events to the Venue successfully. I’m now unable to figure out how I link the Performer to the Event.

    The logic being that if a user looks at an Event listing, there is a link to the Venue and the Performer.

    Hi,

    I’m sorry, but that is not possible. Events can only be linked to 1 custom post type. Other CPT can only be linked to other CPT, not events.

    That would have been nice to know when I asked in my pre-sales question here.

    I’ve now invested time and money into GD and may have to walk away from the plugin.

    Are you able to custom code something for me or suggest a developer that can?

    I just re-read your original topic and I had totally missed that part or I would have alerted it wasn’t possible.

    I’m really sorry.

    That is not something that would be easy to implement I think, but I asked to our developers if they can think of any workaround to accomplish this.

    They’ll let you know asap.

    Hi James,

    I missed this one. I have checked and try to find easy way to implement your idea, but it require more code customization.
    Currently we have one to one CPT linking so to make one to many linking required to modify existing code structure.

    This threat seems to have gone dead. Is there no alternative I haven’t thought of yet?

    Am I able to link another CPT using a 3rd party plugin? Or even some kind of account type? If the Performer was a user account type, could I link them that way?

    Failing this, do you have a developer that could code this for me? Or can you recommend someone?

    Id love to be a long term user of GD, this is the only thing holding me back. Please help me out.

    Your requirement needs more customization in current feature of linking. We surly implements new features if more customers are interested in that.

    Only GD CPT are linkable to each other, no third party plugin CPT are allowed to link GD CPT.

    Hi,

    I’ve had a brainwave, it may be a dumb idea, but you never know.

    The snippet of code you provided me allows me to link an Event to any CPT listing. If the drop down was a multi select could I link to more than one other CPT?

    I really need this feature!

    Without code customization it is not possible to implement feature that you talking about.
