I have an odd situation I cannot resolve.

Two sites, live and dev. The problem exists on the live site and I cannot reproduce it on the Dev. The dev site was installed of of backups of the live site and db. Both are in the same state of upgrade. I have tried on the live site eliminating plugin conflicts with no luck, though both sites have the same plugin configuration.

My users attempting to fill out their new Listing Descriptions are experiencing a “*Field Required” warning on submission, indicating the description has not been completed, though they have their description in place.

In my experimentation I have also noticed if I fill out the text in the visual editor then switch to the Text editor that text will disappear and has to be re-input, then the form recognizes the input and may be submitted.

Likewise you can enter text in the visual editor, copy, switch to the text editor (text disappears) pasted the original text and then switch back to visual editor and the text is still there, the form will recognize the field as completed and may be submitted.

Possibly related info, comparatively, the WPGeo Dashboard areas listing, events are dramatically slower loading live than on the dev server.

This may be a server thing, I may need a fresh install of WP and WPGeo but am trying to avoid that. I can’t reconcile this minor difference in behavior between the two forms, Live and dev.I have exhausted my resources and need a fresh pair of eyes to clear this issue.

Though I may have missed it I have not found a similar issue so this may be unique to the installation.

    Thanks for your feedback!

    Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for your thorough explanation. I’ve just tested this on my local end and I can’t seem to replicate the said issue. Well, it’s hard to tell without seeing the backend. Anyway, if you have a running site right now, could you please share WP temp admin access to your site so we can take a better look? You can post the details here using the private reply option below.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jennifer,

Sorry for the delay in response. I’ve just checked your Website and I’m able to replicate the said issue. Could you please try deactivating non-gd plugins and see if it fixes the issue?

    Thanks!

    Thanks Kor!

    Per my original post:
“I have tried, on the live site eliminating plugin conflicts with no luck, though both sites have the same plugin configuration.”

As I mentioned, I have done a plugin review before contacting you and was unable to eliminate the issue. The dev server with an almost identical plug in config does not produce the issue.

    Thx!

    Hi Jennifer,

Sorry for not paying much attention here. I’ll ask a developer to check this out for you.

    Thanks!

No worries, I understand you have to push on that point of plugins as standard troubleshooting! Thanks for your help.

    Hi Jennifer,

There is an JS error that breaks the other JS on the page. I have checked and found that enabling “Minify” option from W3 Total Cache plugin causing this error.

Now it works fine after disabling Minify option from Performance (W3 Total Cache) > General Settings > Minify.

    Thanks,
    Kiran

Thank you Kiran. I will compare the Minify settings between the dev and live site. They should be identical, though the dev server doesn’t have the same conflict.

    I appreciate the quick support!

    Hi Jennifer,

Possible reasons for this problem (with Minify & W3 Cache):
    – Dev has not SSL active.
    – Dev & live have different domains.
    – Dev is installed on directory, and not in root.
    etc.

    Thanks,
    Kiran
