    Hi All

When someone wishes to confirm and pay for their listing (we have paypal setup) when they click the pay button it just redirects them back to the homepage and we cannot work out why.

You can see this here: http://www.frenchstaysdirect.com

All plugins and WP version are upto date.

    Many thanks in advance

Your GD core is upto date but most of your plugins are out of date, you might be being affected by this: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/missing-update-notifications/

Please update and it should work.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Ok thank you Paolo and Stiofan. I actually run another site http://www.liverylist.co.uk on the same version and which as far as i know has the exact same payment set up and having just tested this site the payment process is working fine. This should be on the same updates as well so not sure how or why one site would work and not the other?!

To add, once the user clicks ‘confirm preview and proceed to checkout’, normally it goes to a ‘GD Checkout’ page, which then gives the user the option to link to Paypal to make payment so it is this link that is missing/ re-directing to homepage, not the link to Paypal as i first thought.

    Hi,

plaese update everything as Stiofan asked. It is a big mistake to run the latest version of the core plugin with outdated add-ons

    Thanks

Okay, but all add-ons have been updated during our diagnosis of the problem and prior to me posting so as far as i know these are all up to date as of a few days ago?

    Hi,

yes of course, but we don’t provide support for outdated plugins.

Unless you update everything we won’t be able to assist.

    Thank you

Hi, have now updated and seemed to be working fine in tests my end. However, i have had a user in France today try to make payment via PayPal and when they get to checkout it says ‘data does not match input character set’. Is this because payment is set in euros? Having looked into it online i have changed the language encoding on my PayPal account to ISO-8859-1 (Western Europe) as it was on something else but am unable to replicate the error to see if it works (it shows as working fine from my account as a third party user). As a majority of the users will be based in France i need to ensure the PayPal link is compatible for both UK and French visitors. Could you advise please…

The site “blog_charset” values is used, if your site is something other than UTF-8 then you will have a setting under Settings>Reading at the top, if it is already UTF-8 then the setting will not show and UTF-8 will be sent.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Ok thank you. Assuming yu mean on the dashboard, I have looked under Settings > Reading and nothing shows in relation to this setting. Assuming it is therefore sending UTF-8 i have changed my PayPal to this decoding setting now as well so both on UTF-8 but still getting same error message?

Yes it is sending it as UTF-8
I carried through to paypal and seen no errors, how can i recreate this?
