Hi,
We have a listing that sent out a notice that it will be expiring in 5 days. This is a listing that we used a 100% Free Coupon Code on and it should not be expiring after 30 days.

The listing was created on a package with a month’s duration, so why would it not expire after a month? The coupon code was for a 100% discount, meaning a free listing for the duration of the package, being a month.
Package ID 3 is set to one month, and the listing was a package ID from 11 May.June 5, 2016 at 12:41 pm #203637Hi Guust,
I guess I’m still used to how GeoTheme worked.
When we would use a coupon code, (all of our listing plans were setup as monthly) and none of them expired if we were using the 100% free code. Do we need to create an annual listing plan just for this purpose?
Also, if so, how can we hide that listing plan and only use it when we need to so that it’s not publicly visible to merchants signing up?
June 5, 2016 at 12:44 pm #203650Also, what about the listings that we have the monthly recurring payments setup using this same listing plan? Are they going to expire after 1 month even though the merchant has agreed to pay the ongoing monthly subscription fee when they signed UP?
Please explain how this is supposed to work so we’re not dealing a bunch more of these types of unexpected issues?
June 5, 2016 at 12:52 pm #203651I guess you are creating those listings yourself, so you can just select the package and enter an expiry date. No need to do anything else.
June 5, 2016 at 12:58 pm #203652Now I see that the coupon will give a discount forever, so with that coupon code they get basically a free ID 3 listing forever. I am guessing that the system still sends an email, but it will auto-renew at zero cost on the expiry date.
I’ll get Paolo to have a look too, he understands recurring payments better.
June 5, 2016 at 1:39 pm #203674No actually the merchant created their own listing and could not get PayPal to process their payment so we agreed to accept a check for the full year from them and gave them the coupon code to use to bypass the payment not working issue that they were having.
June 5, 2016 at 9:35 pm #203930In that case it cannot work, because the system expects PayPal to automatically charge a non-existing PayPal subscription. So because that cannot happen, GD will expire the listing because that is how it has been set up.
In cases like that, you should just put the expiry date in manually.June 5, 2016 at 9:48 pm #203936Then what about the existing listings that we migrated over from GeoTheme? What will happen in this case?
Please explain.
Thank you,
RobertJune 6, 2016 at 9:38 pm #204419I guess you would have set them to have a recurring package with a particular expiry date, and the listings are assigned to the correct user account. The prior agreement your user had with PayPal to automatically pay your monthly fee will not apply to the new price package. Your users need to agree to the terms of the new package, so they will get an expiry notice, and unless they agree the new payment terms, the listing will expire.
I’ll get the others to check my reply too, to make sure I explained it correctly.
June 7, 2016 at 3:41 am #204491Are you saying this for certain or are you just guessing? Because this doesn’t sound right.
When we did the migration over to GD from GT there was a add-on that assisted with the data migration and all of the listing plans and existing accounts were supposed to transfer and stay in tact. Can you please double check for me on this with Stiofan?
Thank you,
RobertJune 7, 2016 at 9:29 am #204546Hi Robert,
You should probably change your paypal IPN url in paypal.com settings (not on your site) to:
http://YOUR-SITE.COM/gd-info/?pay_action=ipn&pmethod=paypalThanks,
Stiofan

We have updated the IPN. Will this any affect on our previous merchants that we signed up thru GeoTheme? Anything we need to know about or be aware of?
