We’re able to display Featured listings in the Listing Slider widget and settings allow for us to show 4 at a time in slideshow mode. They look great, but wondering if there is a way to have the slider advance only one image at a time instead of sliding through four at a time? Tried various combinations of width and number of posts but can’t seem to figure it out.
Also, when “Show title” option is selected, the titles seem to shift to different places (vertical) in relation to each logo, instead of appearing consistently across the bottom (and they appear with a gray box behind the title). Is there a fix for that?
Thanks!
January 20, 2016 at 1:52 pm #69523You need to set “Number of posts(shown at one time, requires a slide width to be set):” to 1.
I think that should fix your second question too. Please post URLs where possible, it makes it easier to see what you mean. Thanks.
January 20, 2016 at 9:40 pm #69647Thanks so much for the reply. Directory home page currently set during testing to:
http://www.inmaricopa.com/gd-home/
We tried setting number of posts to 1, however that only “shows” 1 post at a time 🙂
Since the slider extends across the top of the page, we like showing 4 posts at a time, however we only want them to slide over 1 at a time.
We left the “title” option active as well, with gray bars visible at different vertical levels, for your review.
Also, forgot one slider question: Currently we have logos set in the slider to display “Featured” but can we control in which order they appear? We were hoping for “random” so that the same logos don’t appear for every visitor in the same order, since that might give preferential treatment to some of the Featured clients.
Any suggestions for the above would be much appreciated.
January 20, 2016 at 10:30 pm #69656Sorry, I think I misunderstood. No you cannot have 4 shown at the same time, but slide one by one.
The reason that the titles are not all lining up with the bottom is because some of the images are smaller than the minimum height set to the slider. For example http://www.inmaricopa.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Logo1.gif
Have a look at the settings: you can filter to only show featured listings and then sort them in random order.January 21, 2016 at 3:16 am #69676Thanks for the feedback. If we were to custom code, could you direct me to the area where the settings for the various scroll functionalities might be found?
What is the minimum height for slider images, and if any are larger, will they scale back uniformly? How to target the gray box?
Random/Featured setting worked great, sorry I missed that.
January 21, 2016 at 3:43 pm #69742Hi,
if you customize that script, you risk to mess up the detail page slider too.
I would suggest to proceed only if you are 100% confident about how to modify it.
The starting point would be: geodirectory-widgets/geodirectory_listing_slider_widget.php
Thanks
January 21, 2016 at 9:03 pm #69834Okay, I don’t think we’ll modify the scroll frequency. Can you comment on “What is the minimum height for slider images, and if any are larger, will they scale back uniformly? How to target the gray box?” We would either like to remove or modify the gray color.
Thanks so much!
January 21, 2016 at 10:48 pm #69848The minimum height is 200px.
If they are larger, they will scale, you can already see that.
The class for the titles is .geodir-slider-title. This post might be helpful: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-your-style/ -
