    Hi,

I’ve added a drop down menu to my search on the home page and it’s showing two categories, however, if listings need to appear in both categories it currently on shows on the original listing: ADR Studios.

    Please help.

    Thanks!

    URL and admin details please.
I guess you have used the Advance Search addon and set up a search to filter by categories?

If you add a listing, you will be able to choose either or both categories.
Every CPT has only one Add Listing form, and then users can choose the category.

Thanks but currently under ‘add listings’ only ADR studios appears, not cutting rooms. Under navigation is doesn’t allow me to add Cutting Rooms for hire.

    Thanks for helping.

Only CPTs have an add listing form, categories do not.
The Studios is your CPT, not a category.

What’s the best way to have two listings that people can add to directly but also be able to add to both areas if they offer ADR studios and Cutting Rooms?

Exactly as you have: one CPT with two categories.
Maybe rename the CPT to “services??” or whatever, and then when they add the listing, they can choose either or both categories.

So one submission for a “place” and they choose what they offer: ADR studios and Cutting Rooms, or ADR studios only, or Cutting Rooms only.

That will create one listing in 2 or 1 category.

I hope I am understanding you correctly.

Yes that solves the problem. Thank you. Can I make the ‘Search for’ on the front page a drop down menu so you select either ‘ADR Studios’ or Cuttings Rooms’ rather than have to type it in?

The category drop down will appear if you make the category field an advance search filter in GD >> CPT settings >> double click on category and down at the bottom of its setting enable it as an advance search filter.

It will not appear in the 1st line, but only in the drop down that appears, when customize my search button is clicked.

To make it appear instead of the CPT select, a customization is required.

    Thx

Thanks, I had that already enabled. How do I customise it?

    I appreciate the help.

HI Uk post, customizing a plugin code isn’t part of the support provided. If you want I can move this in the Jobs section where freelance developers can provide a quote to personalize your website.

    Thanks
