On https://goodlocalevents.com we list events which list some markets which take place almost daily (as recurring events) some which take place once a year. Generally speaking the once a year events are more profitable to us.

I want to use a shortcode on the front page which lists our upcoming events in rolling date order

something like (and I am not sure this is right)

    [gd_listings post_type=”gd_event” layout=3 post_number=”6″ event_type=”upcoming”]

but which only lists a single instance of each event. So a market (set as a recurring event) only shows once and does not crowd out all the other events which take place infrequently later in the calendar.

How can I achieve this. Can I do it wish shortcodes or do I need a snippet?

FYI I am usine multisite although I cannot see how that woulc change much.

    Best wishes and TIA
