The location prompt does not come up when accessing my website. I’ve tried to view from several different browsers and my mobile.
From what I understand, currently automatic location is not possible, is that correct? But upon entering the website, the user should be prompted to share their location and that should then load the page and the widgets according to their location. This permission will remain with each visit unless the user clears their cache/history. Do I understand this properly?
There was also a strange instance where the location popup did work. When I used the “Near Me” button to access the location page I was then asked from both the pop-up from my site, and a pop-up from my browser several times to extend permission(I think two times each). Then the page loaded, with the location accurate listings. But I should not have to give permission multiple times that way. I have since tried to duplicate this issue but now my popup does not even load. I have tried to clear the cache and history from all of my browsers and devices to no avail.

Could you try configuring the “Advanced Search” Settings here as shown in this screenshot http://prntscr.com/ekyqpl . If it doesn’t work still, please share WP temp admin access to your site so we can take a better look. You can post the details here using the private reply option below.
Thanks!
March 17, 2017 at 6:18 am #367919I have made the changes…but this disables the geolocation permission popup. But anyway, I tried to view the site, if I now try to use my “Near Me” button, it comes up with no listings that match my selection.
I will forward admin credentials in the following post. Thank you Kor.

I’m working on figuring out how to fix that, but it seems to be a very common issue.
March 17, 2017 at 10:06 am #367942I just installed the SSL content fixer plugin. It took care of the issue. Please recheck. Thank you.
March 17, 2017 at 1:42 pm #368076The get my location seems to work now, but i see you dont have the location switcher anywhere on the page, you should have it somewhere so users can change locations as they with, eithe rin the menu or somewhere else.

March 17, 2017 at 5:23 pm #368135Thank you. Since I have a lot of locations set up I had read that it will slow down the page. That’s why I haven’t included it.
March 17, 2017 at 6:38 pm #368152It will ajax load locations so it won’t slow things down 🙂

March 17, 2017 at 9:22 pm #368184Thank you, but the location changer just doesn’t work the way I would like. 🙁
March 18, 2017 at 1:09 pm #368263How would you expect/like it to work?

March 19, 2017 at 12:33 pm #368419Auto detection would be ideal once geo-location is permissible by the website visitor with redirection options that could be set by the site-owner.
Alos, I still haven’t seen the “Allow location” popup that should be triggered from geodirectory.
I am currently looking into other plugins to enable auto redirection based on visitor IP/location. I think this function would be extremely beneficial to this plugin. Location is a huge part of any directory site, location specific to it’s user, and any aspects of their website experience is key.
March 20, 2017 at 1:26 pm #368579Hi Joy,
We do have that feature in advanced search, but it requires HTTPS as do all location services now.
Thanks,
Stiofan
