    Hi,

    (A) Location Search Problem

I have malls in my Locations – Neighbourhoods field. I have neighbourhoods like
    1) Jewel Changi Airport
    2) Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay

When I search for (1) “Jewel” in the Location field, the search breaks and returns zero results but when I search for (2) “Theatres”, I get results for Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay.

Can you help me take a look and see what went wrong?

    (B) Listing Images Problem

Also for the post images, when I upload multiple images, at first reload, all the images can be seen at the frontend, but at the subsequent reloads, only the first image can be seen. The rest of the images will not display.

They are under Free Dining and Unlimited Images are allowed at the moment so I’m really confused at what went wrong.

    Thanks!

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for the response. The coordinates for the neighbourhood and the listing are within 5km of each other. What I mean is, when people search for part of the phrase, it should return search results isn’t it?

E.g. searching for “Jewel” should return results for the neighbourhood “Jewel Changi Airport”.

From what I see, searching for “Theatres” returns results for the neighbourhood “Esplanade Theatres by the Bay”.

Just like often times if the name of a place is long, people just call it by its first name instead of the entire name.

The images were all uploaded fully. When you first view the Dining page from frontend, you can see all the images. But when you reload two or three times, the images will disappear. Only the first image will be viewable.

No, as I mentioned above, ‘jewel’ will be sent to Google for lookup, and the lookup is not coming back with the area you want. You might want to name that neighborhood something that Google identifies correctly.

Re: Neighbourhood: Ok I get what you mean now. Thank you so much!

Re: Images: I used to get the Images problem for Dining CPT but it seems to be working fine now.

    Thanks for your help Alex!

    Hi Alex,

    1) Just to be sure that I understood you correctly, when a user types a word in the Location field without clicking anything on the dropdown list, it automatically searches for “Near” instead of “In” am I right?

    2) Is there a way to configure the Location field such that the user has to click on an item in the dropdown field so when they are unsure about the full name of the mall and only type in the first word “Jewel”, they search for the existing neighbourhood “Jewel Changi Airport” instead of the wrong “Jewel”?

    Hi,

    1) correct

    2) not without customization.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Yep I know that would require customization. I just need a heads up on where to start. Is it the html coding, CSS codes or does it require tinkering with the JS or php files?

    It requires php.

I tried changing the name of the neighbourhood but there are a few that contains the word Jewel so unless it is a select element, it wouldn’t work. For e.g., I didn’t even know there is an area called Jewel – Buangkok so when I search for “Jewel”, I get irrelevant results.

Is there a code snippet I can use to convert the input element into a select element?
