Location switcher and search

I have multi location add-on installed and location switcher works. I also have the advanced serach enabled.
The problem is that whenever I navigate away from /region/city the location is lost.
What I would like to achieve:
Keep the location persistently in the session until user changes it.
All searches if location is set in the session, should do a serach on the location unless another location specifically typed in the near filed.
Same thing with th ecalendar, ie serach based on th elocation when clicked on the calandar date:
/?geodir_search=1&etype=all&stype=gd_event&s=+&near=&event_calendar=20160723

Any assistance is appreciated.
