Location Switcher in custom menu

I’ve just enabled the location switcher (Geodirectory > MultiLocations > Show location switcher in menu > Enable

I am facing several issues getting it to function smoothly. (I’ve spent several hours researching and trying things on my development site already.) I’ll just list the two most pressing ones:

1) Add location switcher to menu

I am using the “Winning Agent” Genesis child theme. In their docs they say this:

“The Winning Agent Pro theme supports the Primary menu location provided with the Genesis Framework, however the demo does not utilize this menu.”

I have my site set-up like the demo. It works so that you create a menu and don’t assign it to any menu location. (If I assign the menu to the Primary menu location, it changes the layout of the page. I don’t currently want to do this.)

My problem is that I don’t know how to add the GeoDirectory location switcher to my menu, given that my menu isn’t attached to a menu location. (I am aware of how to add the location switcher to a menu that is assigned to a menu location.)

2) Auto-select place type

When I click on a country in the location switcher in the menu, I get sent to a page that doesn’t contain any listings. Home > Location > India. None of the place listings from India appear.

My site only has one place type. It would be more functional if selecting a country would also select the place type at the same time, like this: Home > Place type > India

That page lists all places in India, which is much more useful. Is it possible to have the user select the location and then be redirected to a page with location and default place type at the same time?
