    Hello,

on my system I have a default GD page called „Locations“. If I type mysite.org/locations, a map gets displayed, which shows all of my listings, but the text alert says „no entires found that match…“

I am not sure how to handle or integrate this page correctly. Google search console reports soft 404 errors (please note attachment).

    Regards,
    Martin

What have you added to the page so far?

Usually you want to add a GD Listing element that will show all your CPT listings, one for each CPT. Then make sure to set the location filter on each one.

    Hello Alex,

thanks for your immediate reply. I am not sure if I understand it correctly. The location page contains:

    [gd_notifications][gd_map map_type=’directory’ width=100% height=300 search_filter=1][gd_search][gd_loop_actions][gd_loop layout=4][gd_loop_paging]

but I cannot remember having added any code to it.

By custom CPT do you mean Places and Events? Those are the ones I have set up. I have a lot of categories in both CPTs, but I have disabled the display of them.

Maybe this page got installed during the demo setup process. Do I need it at all? What happens, if I delete it?

    Regards,
    Martin

The default content for that page is available in the settings:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/page-design/#settings

You should add a GD Listings element for each CPT, with thelocation filter enabled.

I would not recommend deleting the page.

Alright, I’m starting to understand. Still wondering:

    1. How get’s the location page triggered? It seems to generate content dynamically.

2: Should it be added to a site menu?

An in depth video-tutorial of how to properly set up V2 would be much appreciated.

    Regards,
    Martin

    Hi Martin,

Many members choose to link to location pages. They are unique because they show multiple post types with a location filter.

If you add it to a menu you should link to a specific location where you have listing, and use location description content, too.
