Master "Add Listing" Page

    Does this exist? I’m not sure if this is possible as I haven’t seen it on any other demo site. Perhaps it could be a feature for the future.

    At the moment “Add listing” widget on the side bar requires you to pre select the custom post type, like wise “Add listing” from the main nav gives a drop down revealing the custom post types.

    I am looking for a stand alone page on a perma-link where the first step is to choose the custom post type after which the rest of the form is revealed.

    So if I am on a landing page covering “Jobs” and I want to encourage readers to add job listings I want to be able to link them to the master “Add Listing Page” not have to links to “Add Part Time Jobs” “Add Full Time Jobs” etc.

    Thanks for the feedback. Not sure if I understand what you needed there, but do you know that you can always create individual “Add Listing” pages using shortcodes? https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-shortcodes/#add-listing . Let me know if it’s what you’re looking for.

    I looked at the shortcode, but it seems to create individual “add listing” pages by custom post type. I was looking for a single page (or at least a single url) on which you could choose any custom post type from a drop down.

    so I could add any & all listings from this url http://www.mysite.com/add-listing/ (which currently just returns to the home page)

    Rather than a separate page as it is now:
    http://www.mysite.com/add-listing/?listing_type=gd_AAAA
    http://www.mysite.com/add-listing/?listing_type=gd_BBBB
    http://www.mysite.com/add-listing/?listing_type=gd_CCCC
    etc.

    That is correct.

    Just make sure the add listing page is selected in GeoDirectory > Permalinks as the add listing page and that it doesn’t contain the shortcode.

    Also make sure that in design > navigation users are allowed to submit listings for all CPT that you want.

    Hi, can I get some confirmation on this?

    I too am looking for a add listing “master” page, where the type of listing can be selected to load the specific listing content…instead of having separate pages and/or links for each type of cpt.

    I have tried to follow what this states, but I still only load the default category when I click on the “Add Listings” link.

    Hi,

    you can have 1 page as add listing, but the variable at the end is what makes it load the correct form.

    ?listing_type=gd_place
    ?listing_type=gd_event

    It’s impossible to do it without them at the end of the URL.
