Merge locations and keep google?

Hi guys,

Is it possible to merge regions and still let people submit a listing using Google maps?

For example, ‘Kingston upon Hull’ is currently in a region that’s also called ‘Kingston upon Hull’ because that’s how Google has the address listed. However, I’d like to put the city of ‘Kingston upon Hull’ in the ‘East Riding of Yorkshire’ region.

Now I know I can do that manually, but the problem is, when people submit a new listing and select the address on the map, it will set the region to ‘Kingston upon Hull’ which then creates it as a new region in our database. That then separates the listing from other events in kingston upon hull as they don’t share the same region.

Is there a way around this so that any new listings in ‘Kingston upon Hull’ city, could automatically be in the merged region of ‘East Riding of Yorkshire’?
