missing category listing in menu navigation

I created several categories in the “places”, however none of the categories that I created are showing up in the catagory listing to “add” to the main menu navigation. Can someone assist?

After creating up to 5 new “Places” categories, I discovered that none of these (Subcategories) were listed on the “categories” feature of the Menu navigation. I need to be able to add these subcategories to the menu navigation. Can someone explain how to fix this?

Resolved.
I discovered that my “screen options” on the admin dashboard was not selected. Therefore I was able to find the Places Category and added the ones I created to the menu navigation. Feeling a bit embarrassed.. for anyone who is having an issue. now fixed.
