Missing translated listings & wrong view all URL after GD update & data import

    Hi support team,

    I have done yesterday the recent GD plugin update and also updated some of the listings data by first export and re-import corresponding instructions.

    Now I am facing the issue (listings missing, wrong view all URL of translated version), that
    A. some listings of post types are not listed any more (but still existing e.g. Hotel Radison Blu or be found in category overview unterkünfte even also proper set within corresponding widget setup on home page
    and
    B. the “Alles anzeigen” (view all) link url is not using the link URL for german listings.

    I cannot really see any problems.

    Radisson Blu is listed at https://www.worldcheckin.com/de/unterkuenfte/

    Am I misunderstanding?

    Hi Guust,

    the problem is

    1. on DE Page
    that those are not displayed in homepage as they should be listed within the corresponding widget. Listings within corresponding CPT are missing (not displayed)

    2. Click on “Alles anzeigen” i.e. on Attraktionen
    then the link is forward to EN page instead of DE page https://www.worldcheckin.com/places/attractions/

    a. The cpt’s below google map
    b. search options

    are used in DE instead of original EN version.

    It seems that the Update has may mixed the translation files or not using the proper once.

    4. WPML string translation wrong set EN instead of DE or need to be deleted?
    within string translations I found so many strings which shall be DE instead of EN, therefore I switched some of them to DE flag and still need to proceed with seachring for the same.
    Please advice what to do if many strings are set as EN but are DE strings to be declarated with DE flag or shall those be deleted?

    Hi Alex,

    1. In DE those widgets showing no listings because for selected categories has no listings in DE language. For ex: Bars has some listings available in EN but not in DE language.
    EN https://www.worldcheckin.com/hospitalities/bars/ > listings available
    DE https://www.worldcheckin.com/de/bewirtungen/bar/ > no listings available

    2. There seems a bug, we have fixed this now. Let us provide FTP details so we can update this on your site.

    3. We need FTP details to look into this.

    4. Do not delete these strings. WPML registers new strings for translation if strings not added in string translation list. You can switch language for those strings with select all those strings and click “change language of selected strings” and choose DE language.

    Hi Kiran,

    about 1. no listings are displayed any more (has worked before update).
    According export and re-import gd function of corresponding CPT files there are for all post custom fields existing listings available in each language. But still not displayed in DE homepage any more. You can compare those entries within database too and when you check by export accommodation or hospitality file i.e. accommodation then you will see within the file there is de or en declarated as setting to establish the de or en language to be displayed with. But after import then those listings are not displayed any more.

    about 2. wrong URL’s with language mix

    about 4. strings with wrong EN language flag
    After reviewing the strings in wpml string translation tab I found out that many strings are DE but flagged as EN (Screen shot – https://nimbus.everhelper.me/client/notes/share/967487/0af51wylcsukrldwutdz – Please review red marked entries which are DE and should not be EN flagged).

    Most of them are custom fields which are added and translated by using the custom fields translation instuctions – https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translating-custom-fields/ but now those DE translated are displayed as EN with (not translated) status within WPML string translation.

    >>> Seems to be a bug too.

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks you for providing information in brief.

    Can you confirm the FTP details you provided is for the same site?
    Because no changes reflected on front end, whatever changes uploaded, even it doesn’t log/print if i want to log/print something. I checked disabling Auto optimize & WP Super Cache plugins but still same things happens.
    Do you have any server side caching system enabled?

    I have also cloudflare active and we have on server “nginx” which also cache files.
    Let me
    1. de-activate cloudflare DNS forward + set to dev mode
    2. as well deactivate “nginx” on server by “nginxctl disable”.

    Just to be informed, what I have planned to do for solving this issue:
    I like to inform you, that I have done a plugin restore /wp-content/ to plugins.restore folder of older version and tried by rename current plugin folder to plugin.broken, but this has not helped. I guess it is all in database stored and causing the issue now.

    I have planned to make a db backup of broken one and restore older database version and try to see if this will help. Unfortunately I am unable to copy current broken database for backup and server admins are checking why not able to do copies of databases any more.

    Hi Alex,

    1)
    There are some listings which have translations not fully completed and yet under review. Go Places > select all languages from languages switcher > it shows English (20) | German (4).
    Because you have translations for some listings are still in translation basket(means under review). Check here WPML > Translation management > Translation Basket.
    On Places list when you hover on pen marker it shows “Cannot edit this item, because it is currently in the translation basket.” see screenshot.

    4) Follow the answer given by WPML support guy at https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translated-languages-are-mixed-between-different-language-approach/#post-1299058

    During export > import make sure you have correct values there for columns “language” & “original_post_id” in CSV file. If listing that being imported is a translation of other listing then put original post id value under original_post_id column.
