Hi guys,
For some reason my MOBILE homepage has changed on it’s own by adding a widget at the top showing an event’s title. It doesn’t look like that on my desktop homepage.
Mobile homepage has a widget showing the latest event.
Desktop homepage does not.I would like it be removed. Please let me know what happened. Thanks.

January 22, 2016 at 4:05 pm #70014Hi,
I don’t see any extra event widget in your home page on mobile, can you please send a screenshot.
Thanks,
p.s. personally I can’t suggest any book. I’ve done most of my studies online on site like http://www.w3schools.com/ for html and css and I learn most about WordPress through their codex: https://codex.wordpress.org/

January 25, 2016 at 5:10 pm #111191Hi,
I see the same in desktop: RHY 200 hour Winter Teacher Training
I believe your settings have some issues (probably the home title “Page not found” is related too).
Please provide credentials.
Thanks

Thanks.
January 26, 2016 at 6:00 pm #111857Hi,
I see it correctly after logging in on desktop, but logged out I see the same widget.
When I log in the title of the page is correct as well.
This is due to the non compatible hosting plan chosen. GoDaddy WordPress managed plans have very aggressive caching that will cause this kind of problems.
Please move to a regular VPS or to a managed plan where cache can be disabled.
Pls see: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/server-requirements/
Thanks
January 28, 2016 at 1:23 am #112711Thanks for the recommendation, Paolo.
1. Is there a way to fix the glitch until I switch servers?
2. Will switching servers mess up the website?
3. So it’s not because I have my homepage set up incorrectly? Thanks.

January 28, 2016 at 1:54 am #112712I went ahead and set all my events to private so that it doesn’t pop up for now.
January 28, 2016 at 2:00 am #112713Paolo,
Do you know the correct color code to make the white part of my site icon gray like the way Geodirectory has it? Thanks.

Nope I’m sorry
2. Will switching servers mess up the website?
If you move everything correctly, not at all. https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
3. So it’s not because I have my homepage set up incorrectly
I don’t think so, but it’s difficult to say on a server that doesn’t act as it should.
4 I’m not sure which icon you are referring to, can you please clarify?
Thx
January 28, 2016 at 10:38 pm #113248Hi Paolo,
I attached a photo. The “P” icon. It’s a round site icon but Geodirectory asks that it be square. Is there a way to keep it round and the corners be gray so that it would look like Geodirectory’s site icon? Please see the two attached photos in this post.
Thank you,
Janine
