When you use the auto-completer for the near search and select an option, let’s say a city, the results which are returned are for only that city. (In rather than Near)
I think this should return all the results in that city, and then also around that city – hence “near”.
With RinkTime, if someone does a near search for “anaheim, ca” without using the auto-selector option they are presented with the proper results.
However, if they select the auto-completer’s suggested Anaheim, they only see results from anaheim.
Further, if they enter a city that has no listings (Tustin), it set’s their search to In: Tustin and all future search results come up empty. This is a problem because there are 15 listings within a 20 mile radius of Tustin.
Further once the In: Tustin is set, the user can only use the near search if they select an auto-completer option. No other entries will be accepted. So if I do a search for Tustin, and choose the auto-completer option I get no results. If I then enter Irvine in the near field, but do not choose the auto-suggester option for Irvine, I still see no results and the near setting is still set to Tustin – even though I changed it and there is a listing in Irvine.
Until it’s resolved I have the auto-completer turned off.
