Need help configuring GeoDir with Genesis

Hello,

I have been tinkering around for a long time trying to get my site configured and realize I need expert help or I will be tinkering forever. I am an “intermediate” WordPress user, but I don’t know code and trying to figure out how to make my ideas work with these two complex platforms is a tad overwhelming.

My site will be a seamless combination of half travel directory (GeoDirectory) and half travel magazine (Genesis.) My goal is to do everything with the existing functions in Genesis and related plugins, and within GeoDirectory. In other words, no custom coding, if possible. I’m willing to modify my ideas and vision to work within the existing functions of both. In a year or more when I know what I need based on usage, I’ll consider custom work.

I haven’t gotten that far in setting it up. Created a couple dozen directory listings and some “feature pages” in Genesis for the various magazine sections.

I don’t believe what I want to do is that difficult if you know your way around both Genesis and GeoDirectory (which I don’t yet. Soon.)

What I need: A developer familiar with GeoDirectory and comfortable with Genesis who can help me:

-Configure GeoDirectory maps, categories, custom searches and customize maps
-Help me decide how to integrate GeoDirectory functions into the different travel posts and features I have planned (Genesis features)
-Set up the numerous templates I’ll use throughout the site now and in the future
-Answer questions

Will provide additional details as to the overall plan for the travel magazine that will help you visualize what needs to be done.
