Need WP dev for site with very large traffic goals

# Background

I’m building Natural Healthcare, a site that will be like WebMD meets Yelp for the holistic healing community. I want to eventually send a LOT of traffic of traffic at it. I am an entrepreneur with a deep technical background myself, but not in php/Wordpress development (My background is Ruby, Python, Elixir, and Devops).

My goal is to be able to provide some mockups (Balsamiq/InDesign), and then work with you to figure out the best way to quickly get that functionality in place.

## Design

If you have design chops too, great. But if not, I’ll probably pick up a designer anyway. But to the extent I can just follow the design of the themes, I’ll just do that.

# Why Work On This Project

• I’ve got a lot of experience managing teams in an agile manner. The advantage to working with a client like me is that I understand the challenges you’re facing because I face them myself every day.
• I can communicate my needs more effectively than most clients
• I want someone with whom I can collaborate, not dictate.
• My goals for this site are very ambitious. WebMD gets 200Million hits / mo. I won’t hit that any time soon, but if you’re looking for a good site to add to your portfolio, this will be one of them.

# Requirements

* PHP / WordPress custom theme/plugin development – This isn’t a job to just configure plugins. When a plugin will get the job done, then great, but you’ll need to be able to write code, and write it very well. (I’ll be reading it)
* Vast ecosystem knowledge – A lot has already been built for WordPress, and I want to leverage that as much as possible. When I work for my clients, I show them how to achieve their goals as quickly as possible based on my experience with the ecosystems. I expect that from you.
* Git – Any custom code will need to be managed in git. None of this subversion garbage. 🙂

# Rates

I frankly don’t know what the going rates are in this segment of the industry. Please let me know what you expect, and we’ll take it from there.
