Neighbourhood

Hi Paolo,

Here are the steps which lead to the problem:

1) Go to hyderabad.eypindia.info
2) In the search bar, in the “search for”, enter Yellow and select Yellow Pages.
3) In the “Select Neighbourhoods, enter Madhuranagar and select the place from the drop down menu.
4) Hit Search Button.
4) The result: “No listings found which match your selection.”

Now refresh the page and again go to the search bar.

1) In the search bar, in the “search for”, enter Yellow and select Yellow Pages
2) Leaving the “Select Neighbourhoods” as it is, Hit Search button.
3) The Result: Search Results appear.

I am surprised, when the Neighbourhood is entered, it is not showing up the results, when the that neighbourhood has been added at the time of ADD LISTING.

In Chrome, The NEAR ME does not work ( I understand the SSL issue in Chrome); but in Firefox, the NEAR Button works, but the problem recurs when Neighbourhoods results are the same as explained above.

This is what is happening.
I hope you understand my problem.

In fact I had selected the neighbourhoods for all the sample listings I had created in “PLACES”.
After going thru your post, I had rechecked and found that the Neighboourhoods selection is not appearing in any of the posts. I do not know how it got stripped.

Now, I had updated all the neighbourhoods, but when I enter a different neighbourhood, it should show up within the distance stipulated in the settings; but the result is showing as “NO LISTINGS FOUND WHICH MATCH YOUR SELECTION”. The listings show up only when the exact Neighbourhood is searched, as entered at the time of listing, but not appearing within the distance set in the settings,when another neighbourhood is entered within 2 Kms distance.

But as I Understand, all places in the listings will appear in the search results, within the square distance of 30 Kms (as per the setting) when another neighbourhood is searched, which is within the distance settings.

For example, when I search for Yellow Pages in the neighbourhood of Ameerpet (Ameerpet is about 2 kms from Madhuranagar), this listing should show up and the distance marked under the listing.
Such results came up when I was making the site under eyp.co.in; but noe it is not coming up.

Do you get what I am trying to put across?

Kindly let me know where I need to alter the settings.

Hi Paolo,

I got your logic.

In Chrome, the Near Me button does not work.(NO SSL for my site at present. Will take one next month).

But when I open the site in Firefox, the Near Me button works and when searched with the Near Me enabled and not inputting the Neighbourhood, the Search results appear with the Distance indicated on the Listings Results Page.

Hi Paolo,

Today I added a sample Franchisee for Yellow Pages, Hyderabad as “Yellow Pages, Basheerbagh” in the title.

I had selected Basheerbagh as Neighbourhood.

When searching for Basheerbagh Neighbourhood, the search results show nothing.

When I had gone back to edit the listing, the Neighbourhood does not show Basheerbagh, but shows only “Select Neighbourhood”.

I had selected The neighbourhood again as Basheerbagh from the drop down list and on saving the listing and going back to edit mode, it till shows as “SELECT NEIGHBOURHOOD”.

I am unable to understand why this happens?

Kindly resolve this issue.

Yeah, now its working fine.

I was not aware of the limitation to 30 character. Good it has now been increased to 100 char.
