Newbie question re theme/framework compatibility

Hi, I’ve not used frameworks before, and I’m still quite new to WordPress itself, so I’m a bit in the dark about how it all works. I need to set up some directories on my website, but I already have the site up and running using the Pinnacle theme.

Is the GD framework compatible? I don’t really want to change my theme, as I like how I’ve got it looking, but I’m getting stuck with getting my directories set up and I think having the framework would help.

Or would it be better if I set up a subdomain for my directories and use the GD theme and framework on just that? My site isn’t going to be a directory site, per se; more a site with some directories included (four or five different types).
