Is there a “setting” that will always allow for default to open which ever cpt is listed?

Is there a “limit” per page on the number of listing?

Have a look at the shortcode builder for the available settings:
```
[gd_search customize_filters="always"]
```
To set the number of listings per page:
WP Settings > Reading > Blog pages show at most

One approach would be to link to a search page link with results, instead of linking to the search page directly.
