    Hi,

When a visitor uses the main search bar without submitting any input (directly clicks on the search button), GD generates a page that has a different layout compared to the actual desired search results page including no sidebar, post meta data is not shown in the listings etc.).

How can I make sure there is always the same layout for the search results or how can I make the button unclickable when the user has not submitted any input?

    Best regards,
    Adrian

Hi Adrian, I cannot recreate that. Try it yourself at https://wpgeo.directory/
So it seems site specific for you.
If you want us to check your settings, please post your URL and WP admin details in a private reply and we will have a look for you.
    Thanks

    Hi Adrian,

This is caused by the one of option from WP Accessibility plugin that forces to use search.php template for empty search.

I have unticked that option from “Settings > WP Accessibility > Miscellaneous Accessibility Settings > Force search error on empty search submission (theme must have search.php template)”.

Please check and let us know.

    Regards,
    Kiran

    Happy to recommend your plugin.

Just one last question. The page now displays the shortcode “Gd_notifications” as plain text at the top of the site.

    How can I remove it?

    Best,
    Adrian
