    Hey,

I need to have a different number of listings show on a specific endpoint.

Ex: on url/listingurlprefix/tags/tagname I need to have 80 listings display on that URL – instead of the 24 that is set up in WP /settings/reading.

I think I can do this with a shortcode like
    [gd_listings post_type=”gd_place” layout=4 tags=”tagname” post_number=”80″ list_sort=”featured”]

but how would I make that render on that specific URL?

    Thanks.

There is no way to hijack a tags archive with a custom page.

There are plugins that allows to set a different number of posts per page for different archives.

    Example: https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-posts-per-page/

I never tested it though, but I don’t see why it shouldn’t work. There are other too: https://wordpress.org/plugins/tags/posts-per-page

    Thanks

    Hey Paolo,

Thanks for those links, good idea, I’ll check them out.

Only thing is I don’t necessarily want that revised number for ALL archives, just some specific ones.

So I was thinking, if I dropped that shortcode on a new wp page, and the created a redirect link from the url to that page, would that create any problems?

    So the url
    url/listingurlprefix/tags/tagname
would redirect to the new wp page that had the shortcode
    [gd_listings post_type=”gd_place” layout=4 tags=”tagname” post_number=”80″ list_sort=”featured”]

Are there are problems that I may not have thought of if I try to do it this way?

    Thanks!

That should work too. Make sure to do a 301 redirect.

    Thanks
