Hello
We have this strange issue on our website regarding the number of reviews for a listing. We actually have 3 reviews but the counter is saying we have just 1. Please check this link – http://www.scubaverse.com/places/spain-2/canarias/puerto-del-carmen-1/europe-1/safari-diving-lanzarote/.
You will see the issue under the listing title where number of reviews are stated and also at the beginning of the review section on the page.
Can you please tell us what might be the issue and how to fix it.Thanks
October 13, 2016 at 10:19 am #282899It looks like 2 are comments and only one is a review (with rating), did u make reviews non manditory or did u turn them off for a bit?

October 13, 2016 at 1:40 pm #282990Hi
We did not turn off rating in the backend if that is what you asked.
ThanksOctober 13, 2016 at 5:02 pm #283234I’ve tried now to add a review without stars and it doesn’t let me. So there must have been a different setting when those reviews where entered.
thanks
October 13, 2016 at 9:02 pm #283419Thanks but I am still a bit confused. We have not changed that he setting since we installed the plugin.
Currently, the “Disable rating without disabling comments on listings” is not checked. Since this is not enabled, does it means rating is enabled but does that mean the same thing as enforcing rating with comments?
Also, assuming what you said is true and there was a different setting before, is that responsible for the system saying there is only 1 review instead of 3? So the plugin does not count the comments that has no rating?
How can we harmonize this make display correctly?
October 14, 2016 at 4:25 pm #284015Hi again,
If “Disable rating without disabling comments on listings” was checked, users could leave comment without stars.
Having it disabled, means nobody can add comments without stars.
Yes the system counts only reviews with stars, the only way to fix that now would be to delete those comments and add them back with stars. I’m not sure if there is any other way (maybe via DB).
I asked to the developers to check and let us know,
Thanks for your patience,
October 17, 2016 at 1:45 pm #285814Hi
Thanks for your response. I did some check on my website on this issue and I found out that even though the “Disable rating without disabling comments on listings” was NOT checked, users (both registered and guest) can still leave comment without rating/stars although it is subject to moderation/approval.
Is there no way of making the rating a “required” field?
Is there anything else responsible for this? Is it possible that some code added to my theme function.php file (from a past support request) affecting this? That code was added to move the Review Section from the tabs to under the tabs. See the post here – https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/move-review-out-from-tab-on-detail-page/

October 17, 2016 at 7:18 pm #286115Hi rating is a required field, if it’s not on your website there is a conflict preventing it from working as it should. If you provide admin credentials we will have a look.
Thanks
October 18, 2016 at 2:30 pm #287004This reply has been marked as private.October 18, 2016 at 6:14 pm #287203Yes moving the reviews out of the tab definitely broke the validation. I asked to the developers to let us know if there is an easy way to do that without breaking validation.
They’ll let us know asap.
Thanks for your patience,
October 18, 2016 at 6:15 pm #287205@giri you can find the function used to move the comments out of the tab here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/move-review-out-from-tab-on-detail-page/
Thanks
October 19, 2016 at 12:42 pm #287724The problem is when font awesome enabled, rating validation not working properly. We are working on it.
Thanks
October 20, 2016 at 7:35 am #288144Hi Adeniyi,
Please check now the rating validation is working. Now review without rating can’t be submitted.
From backend Comments -> Comment -> Edit you can add ratings to fix count for older reviews which are submitted without stars.
Let us know,
ThanksOctober 25, 2016 at 7:23 am #291326Thanks everyone. Works fine now.
