one-step claiming

Hi,
I’m starting to get some feedback from listing owners. They seem to have an issue understanding that to claim a listing is a two stage process, i.e. register then claim and then the claim process is two step in submitting the pop-up form, then clicking the verification link.

It must be said, mostly, these people then do not go on to claim.

Is there any way to make the claim a one step process: find your listing, click the “business owner” link and when you have registered from that link, you automatically also become the owner of the listing??

Everyone I have talked to so far thinks it has been a confusing process and that makes it hard for me to start promoting a new service.
