    Ok First please cut me a bit of slack I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer – I built a site using geodirectory a while back you can see it here https://www.bikersni.org and all is well with that site. I recently “Upgraded to Version 2” and while I am sure it is better than before there is one god almighty learning curve compare to the previous version! And I mean HUGH learning curve.
    This is not at all helped by the mashup of “Documentation” that chops and changes between old and new versions with no clear indication of what does and does no longer apply (Hopefully that will be addressed soon)
    Any how I have a problem that I hope someone can advise me on I have my site up and running displaying as it should but no matter where I click on a link to a particular place it says 404 page not found try searching – The search works and finds said place however when you click on the link for more info on the returned page you are served up the 404 error again.
    I have – Set Permalinks as directed
    Have a valad API for maps
    Have a Category for the places and the places in each category
    Tried the WP-Config additional code none of which make a blind button of difference – Now I know that someone has come across this before and its probably a 30 second fix but F&*%ed if I can find it! So this is a plea for help folks Thank in anticipation

    Thanks for your post. Could you please share your WP admin access here in private reply so that we could investigate this further? In the meantime, go through this article https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-wordpress-posts-returning-404-error/ and see if it helps.

    Try clicking on any map either on the sidebar or on the location page when you click on a place in the map and THEN CLICK ON THE POP UP window you get a page not found – similarly if ypu click on location page then click on one of the listing# for more information again page not found

    Please tell me that you did more than that I tried that several times seriously LOL – or is there an alternative place to do this? Either way thank you for getting it to work

    The trick is to save as a different permalink setting first, and then save again using the original permalink setting.
