Hi.. is it possible to pass a place listing page’s city and state variables to a shortcode? i’d like to put weather information on place pages automatically, since all my places have an address.

    thanks.

    Hi Jason,

I’m sorry for the late response. I’d like you to know that this isn’t something that is currently possible out of the box. This will require custom code to achieve what you needed there which falls outside the scope of what we offer for support and I hope you understand.

    Thanks!

With all due respect — and I love GeoDirectory — but this response is often provided w/r/t really basic, really useful feature requests.

The product would be even more amazing if these features were part of the core backlog.

    Hi,

you can only pass a variable to an external shortcode (non GD) via PHP, so it could only be done via custom code inside a php template.

Not from the dashboard. That couldn’t be done even if we wanted to, without customizing the code of the weather plugin too.

    Just FYI.

    Thanks
