Hi Team
I have a problem with the payfast add on
I have uploaded the addon correctly version 1 however it does not seem to function as intended.
When you choose payfast as an option it comes up with an error saying ” Complete all fields”
Not sure why but that makes this gateway not seamless from a customer experience point of view and thus result in lost sales.
I would appreciate your help if you can take a look.

On checkout page, there is an JavaScript error from plugin “Fusion : Plugin”. This JavaScript error breaks other JavaScript loaded via other plugins.
Here the error that i seen in firebug:
“TypeError: Modernizr.load is not a function” in file http://www.coachingwarehouse.com/wp-content/plugins/fusion/includes/js/fusion-core.js?ver=1.0.0 on line no 63Disabling “Fusion : Plugin” fixes the PayFast error, so you new to contact owner of “Fusion : Plugin” about this error.
Thanks,
KiranFebruary 13, 2017 at 6:48 am #361061Hi Kiran
Thanks so much for your feedback. I have let the guys of the fusion plugin know. In the meantime, I have disabled the plugin and am happy to report that all is working In terms of the checkout.
Next issue is that my site is priced in USD and if I proceed to payfast checkout it takes my USD price and converts the value to Rands via payfast at a 1:1 ratio. Obviously this would be a huge problem from a currency exchange perspective. Is this error on your side or on payfast ? Or do I need to make a change to payfasts backend?
Please let me know so I can resolve this.
Regards
Sieko
February 13, 2017 at 7:29 am #361064Hi,
PayFast payment gateway accepts payments only in ZAR. Please see https://support.payfast.co.za/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/81/3/can-i-receive-payments-in-usd-eur-etc
So either you need to choose ZAR as a default currency under Payment Manager settings or it will take amount in ZAR with 1:1 ratio.
Thanks,
KiranFebruary 13, 2017 at 7:36 am #361065Hi Kiran
I understand the legality from Payfast’s side. However My directory is for customers all over the world so I can price it in Rands as that would only be applicable to South Africa.
So my next question is probably along the lines of who developed the payfast plugin ? Surely there must be a way of noting the currency to payfast so they can convert into rands on their side? Or the plugin converts the USD amount to rands?

Sieko
February 13, 2017 at 10:52 am #361089Hi Sieko,
This plugin was developed for people running directories in SA only.
We have never had a request to also have it run outside SA and it could lead to complications, i am not even sure it it’s allowed.Stiofan

From a legality perspective. As long as the revenues are reported here in South Africa no problem. The reason for using payfast is simiply that South African residents are able to use a local payment gateway that operates with local banks.
The only issue is that the plugin does not recognize the base currency of the domain. If it did this and simply converted the USD amount to ZAR then payfast would be able to bill.
I have also contacted Payfast to see if they can assist. This functionality moving forward would be quite important for most jurisdictions.
Please feel free to contact me via e-mail to take this discussion further

I will talk with Paolo about this to see if it’s something we want to pursue or not.
Thanks,

February 13, 2017 at 5:12 pm #361197Hi,
we’d develop something like that ONLY if there was huge request for it.
Thanks
